Round emblem detached from original location. It states. "EVANS SNIDER BUEL CO." Old Object Term. Commemorative pin
I have a Collins KWM-2A (round emblem) that I've had several years. I've been using it on the vintage equipment net checkin on 75 meters, though Ive used it on 40 meters some as well. It hasn't been turned on in about 18 months. The knobs all look good, the front panel has some blemishes around the white lettering on the exciter and PA tuning (the letters/numbers are okay). Lifting the cover shows it needs cleaning up (dirt and some corrosion) but all the tubes have been checked and are very good. Last time I used it it tuned up to over 100 watts out on 75M. The power supply that I used is borrowed so this sale doesn't include the supply. A complete manual goes with it but no mike is included at this price of $650. Buyer pays shipping/handling from 77840. I'll try to get some pix in the next couple of days. us. Mike, (979) us.

Is a selection of 449 love poems first published in Lyons in 1544. Full of passionate ironies and charged obscurity, Scève is considered a sixteenth-century Mallarmé. His oblique self-portraiture laid the groundwork for many contemporary poets. This edition is accompanied by fifty emblems created by the author. The illustrations and Latin mottoes contained within each emblem offer poignant, and often witty, responses to his poems."Here's a translation by Sieburth, Délie 378.White Dawn had barely finished crowningHer head with gleaming gold, roses, When my Spirit, utterly founderingIn the chaos of all it supposes, Now behind the Curtains which enclose it, Returned to render me less exposed to Death.
Something I just noticed from looking at the orange emblems again, is that the the lighting on them, makes them become a bit harder to look at.. the example I posted before has a very faint gradual tint in the round forms, but the glare on the orange emblems is really fat, which makes it blend in with the white icons.. I agree with your concern on the shape and color of the emblems, but design-wise, I agree with the way they have made them.. It is part of the unified look troughout the whole theme.. However, it still lacks some useability I agree.. The tangerine theme is good in showing the icons in shape, but not in color, or in outline.. They are all not the same.. Maybe it's a good idea to get behind the 'drawing table' and keep this thread going with some ideas and propositions?
Why are all these emblems round?". That's a good question and the answer is really simple, my idea was to create new emblems and all people who have a look on it should think "These are emblems!". For that fact, I have used a consistent look to identify every emblem, as an emblem. "Why are all emblems orange?" Although this answer is very simple, I would have a great consistens with the "Human look" and the main color of human is orange. I didn't thought that this would be a big usability problem, because i find everything at the same time, as with the original gnome emblems. The Idea with emblem folders is good, but there is a big problem, it is very unusable to have more than one icon on every folder, because folders are to small. Sincerely Eric S.
Hi, Big thx for the good and bad words. I agree that usability and style are often not related, but I think this should be a goal in the future. Back to the emblems, I think the round shape is an important thing to identifying emblems as emblems. The colors will be changed and I have a complete redesigned preview here, please take a look and tell me your mind especially about the question "the draft alternative or the "old" draft?!" and although the color question, for color blind people (very difficult for a non color blind human..) .
Png). They are not in any way for real use, I just used stock icons to show my idea. Some highlights. - emblems have different color (the purpose of the bug) - emblems have mostly different contour shape - to address the idea of uniformity all emblems have one common detail (a green round pad) that I tried to make both small enough to not interfere with emblem's shape and to be recognizable from first sight - the color of the pad is green to not merge into orange Human folders - the pad's green is intended to be the same shade as on Human 'OK' arrow though I was a bit lazy to copy it exactly, sorry for this! - emblems are small for two purposes. to not confuse them with other icons and to not create too much visual garbage when placed next to tightly arranged icons (they are now 22px but could easily be shrunk to 20px) So what do people think about this idea?

Joe Watson wwatson5@xxxxxxx wrote in message news.1es0i us. $nh us. @xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx My understanding of the difference is that the round emblem appeared when Rockwell acquired Collins Radio. Therefore, the winged emblem was used when it was Art Collins Co. and the round one was used for the later products produced as a part of Rockwell. If someone has a different understanding, I would be eager to learn about it. Joe W5WBR Rick Nospam@xxxxxxxxxxx wrote in message news.pan us. @xxxxxxxxxxxxxx What is the difference between the winged emblem Collins radios and the other kind (round emblem?)? From URL. Apparently -- age when they were made For what it is worth see The evolution of the Collins emblem URL. Sez. The first Collins trademark, used in 1933, was a globe with lines of longitude and latitude and two long, slim wings extending from it. The idea was submitted by a Cedar Rapids firm for a letterhead on the first company stationary. The following year, the same idea reappeared with the grids removed, the globe enlarged and shaded, and wings shortened. By the 1960's, the Collins name was prominently displayed in a redesigned trademark which replaced the wings with straight lines, now referred to as the winged emblem in the ads. In 1961, a new trademark was produced by Ken Parkhurst Associates of Los Angeles. The symbol was patterned after widening circles caused by dropping a pebble into a pond. However, hams referred to this emblem as the rather undignfied meatball reference. After the acquisition of Collins by Rockwell International in 1973, the Collins divisions adopted the trademark of the parent corporation. During the transition, S/Line equipment and M-2 as seen in a 1975 brochure did not have an emblem at all. For more information on the Round Emblem transition, please see the 1998 March/April issue of the Collins Journal. And for further research -- it sez. Re. Collins Question. Emblems. the traditional "winged" emblem.. Certain production changes, some quite. accompanied the change in the Collins logo.. What is the difference between round emblem and wide emblem Collins gear?. (rec. radio. amateur. boatanchors)
Re. Collins, meaning of "winged emblem". It's age, and never having had a COllins, I can never remember which came. the reason people differentiate is becasue the change of the emblem. as the round emblem.. (rec. radio. amateur. boatanchors)

Threaded posts are certainly acceptable to me. Probably a better design anyway. Only absolute purists would balk at that solution. Hmmm. emblems used on other H-Bodies? My 77 Pontiac Sunbird has an arrowhead emblem on the front nose. It is faded and cracked. I have an NOS replacement that is an absolute jewel. Too nice to put on the 'bird in its present condition. I am not sure if the Starfire uses a round emblem. The 74-77 Pontiac Astre has an arrowhead on the nose like the Sunbird, but I think it has slightly different dimensions and therefore a different part number. The 76 Vega had a narrow 'crest' type of emblem on it. Good examples have been going for decent $$ on ebay.
Just received an email looks like the spyder emblem is being reproduced.should be here in around 6 to 8 weeks IF first test works out from t he manufacturer.).) now the skyhawke and chev bowtie emblem IF there is enough interest ! speak now or forever look around for decent (yeah right ) 2nd hand examples !
We have production tooling paid in this - this week.. the final round of work to be done now. the final chance.. underway for the front housing AS WELL as the Monza round emblem inserts. Help.. !!! I'm not sure the #'s or value of doing the Skyhawk. how many of these are really out there .. 20- 25../ 100 etc ????? at say or $100 per emblem alone... we break even on 25.. and keep paying thru GM royalities etc for some years to come.. Probably just too limited in a VERY limited production run. Housing costs are cool as they spread over the others.. but Skyhawk. .if judged just too expensive in this range will probably not go ahead. Chevy Monza bowtie emblem will be $100 each plus post..

These custom emblems look great on coil and battery covers or anywhere else you have a 3 inch by 3 inch flat surface. They are made from ¼ inch billet aluminum and are 3 inches in diameter. The bullet emblems contain six flush mounted 44 magnum shells arranged to look like a loaded cylinder of a 44 magnum pistol (match our point covers & gas caps). To enhance the appearance even more, the 44 mag shells on the round emblem extend out from the cover about a tenth of inch. The 44 shells come in your choice of brass or nickel. - The round 44 mag emblem can be mounted with a single screw through the middle or with the 3M tape provided on the back. NOTE. The emblems shown mounted are for reference only.
If your car doesn't have the vents then you want to use the 240Z emblem to be period correct. No, that's backwards. The 240Z pillar emblems were used up through 12/70 production, as well as on some 1/71 built cars. Mid-way through 1/71 they changed to the round Z emblem. The 240Z pillar emblems are emblems only, while the round Z emblems are actually vent covers. When they stopped using the vents in the hatch, they put the vents in the pillars instead. That's when and why the emblems changed. Your car built in 12/71 was well after the change to the round Z emblem. The earlier 240Z emblem won't fit your car without modification anyway.
Hi, im new to the forum and the Z world so bare with me and my dumb questions for a couple months. I just bought a 240Z that im restoring and it was made in December of 1971. If your car was made in Dec. of 1971 - it is a 1972 Model Year. Therefore it would have No Vents on the rear deck lid, and it would have had the Round Z or Vented Z emblems on the side. Check your Date Of Manufacture - - did you really mean December of 1970? Or publish the VIN from your car. FWIW, Carl B.

In fact I can propose a way to improve it. - make actual images inside circles colored - make background smaller and less saturated - move images to the left an up so they stick out the circle top left corner The goal is to make the image a dominating part of an emblem but keep a background circle as a thing common to all emblems. What do you think about it?

I've been complaining about the same thing on my new FLHX. I removed the reflector that is mounted below the license plate frame on US models and have the same thing you do. Your's looks easier to mask than mine because the frame covers the top part of the black dot making a nice round emblem look cutoff. Here's what I was planning on doing. If you look at older parts catalogs you will find brake caliper inserts of various designs for the older pre-99 model years. They make sizes for both the front and the rear calipers. I think the small size is 1-3/8 which will completely cover the bolt under that black dot. The Road King Custom's also have a real nice emblem on the tail of the rear fender. That you may have to inquire at a dealer now to buy one of those.

In 1938, the rectangular emblem with a special shield shape found its way onto the front of the 2800, an executive car of which 621 were made, including the military CMC version. The rectangular trademark didn't undergo any significant modifications for thirty years until it was used to mark two new vehicles in 1959, the 1800 and the 2100. The logo was in fact redesigned, not least of all to reflect the greater prestige of these models, making it larger and giving it a more rounded border. The Fiat 850, Fiat 124 and Fiat 127 were the last vehicles to feature the rectangular logo, with the exception of the sports models (Coupe and Spider) that were graced with the round emblem of the Twenties. Finally, in 1968, the Turin Company embarked on the complex corporate strategy that would take it to set up the Fiat holding company. A new trademark was required to identify this development. The time of the four blue cubes had come.

Big changes for 1964. Replacing the English inspired design of the 310/311/312 series was an all new design by the Italian designer Pininfarina. New too was the unitary construction of the body, rather than the seperate chassis of the previous model. It continued to use the same 1189cc 60hp OHV 4cyl. E-1 engine as the P312. This model has a grille with 4 groups of 3 horizontal bars and 6 vertical bars. The grille has a large round emblem with a gold 'D' in the middle. Available in 2 door sedan, 4 door sedan (P410) and 5 door wagon (WP410).
In September 1964 there was a change in the design of the grille, the new grille has 13 horizontal bars and 9 vertical bars, the middle horizontal bar and the 3rd and 7th veretical bars are slightly larger than the rest. The large round emblem has been replaced with a rectangular shaped emblem, the same as the one on the heading at the top of this page. It now has rubber blocks on the bumper over riders.
One can only imagine how many sakis the Nissan engineers had in them when they decided to stick the Fairlady's mechanicals into the humble P411 Bluebird. This ludicrous little car had the Fairlady 1600's 1595cc twin SU carb. 96hp OHV 4cyl. engine, giving it a power to weight ratio of 109hp/1000kg. The engine was a bit of a tight fit, the only way they could make it work was to have the exhaust come straight out and through a hole in the inner guard into the wheelarch area and then go down under the car. Early R411s had drum brakes all round but most had front disc brakes and drums at the rear. All R411s had a 4 speed close ratio gearbox. There are a couple of different variations of the SSS (Super Sports Sedan), the early models had the same grille as the P411, but the emblem said 'SSS' instead of 'D', later models had a grille with 2 groups of 5 horizontal lines, with a long 'Datsun' emblem in the centre. The USA got 2 versions of the R411, they got the SSS and also a more basic version that had the dashboard of the P411, the basic models didn't have SSS emblems but instead had '1600' emblems. The USA also got an optional 3 speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission. It was also available in a 2 door sedan (R411-R). The USA also got a wagon version (WR411).

There are some six or seven TAC Council patches which have been made to support the program. I have several of them and are still looking for others. As previously stated, the TAC "Round the World" emblem shown below is a three-inch circular emblem which is worn centered on the right pocket of TAC youth and adult members. The patch serves a dual purpose. to recognize members of the Council as well as the central item which the segmented patches (segments) goes around. The countries the Council serves are in red (later green) and has changed over the years as the Council's presence in those countries changes.

From 1965 the round emblem with laurels ('Fiat" in white on a red background) once again dominated the scene for a number of years without, however, replacing the rectangular emblem that had now become the official trademark of the Company. It in fact only appeared on sports models, the 850 coupe and spider, Fiat Dino, 124 and 131 Abarth Rally. It's a symbol that reminds customers interested in high-performance cars of Fiat's vocation and competence in this field as well.
I like your concepts. God knows the Mercury emblem needs to be updated and changed. It doesnt stand for anything and the stylized M explanation doesnt even carry any water for me. Regardless, the first impression I had (after the fact that I liked the star concept) was that the star is a bit close to what Lincoln has -- by that I mean that the Lincoln emblem was supposed to originally represent a diamond and might be too closely related to each other if it were implemented. As for the the other emblem, I agree with LastMercurys comment that it almost looks like the old Rocket logo from Oldsmobile. Still very good and I think that Id prefer it to the current round emblem. Very good ideas rmc523 -- at least someone is trying to do right by Mercury.

I always preferred this to the cat logo or the current one. In fact, it kind of reminds me of the old, old ads where they had the Big M Mercury campaign from years ago -- where the Mercury Godhead was placed on top of a much bigger M.
